Mesquite Blanket Chest

Mesquite Blanket ChestThis fine Mesquite Blanket Chest shows off some exquisite one piece panels! There are not many Mesquite trees that even get that wide. This piece we actually started with a clients log that he brought here. We milled the tree into boards, air seasoned and kiln dried the wood. Last but not least we designed the piece to his specifications and then built it.

 

 

The top, back, and end panels are all single pieces.

All of the panels on the faces including the top, back, and ends are single pieces! We finished the Blanket Chest with several coats of a hand rubbed Danish Oil finish.

Here is the lid open view. We used Aromatic Cedar in the bottom for it’s wonderful insect repellent fragrance.
